Kataloka monarch at Gorom Island

Petuanan Kataloka

Petuanan Kataloka is a traditional monarch in Gorom Island, the regency of East Seram, Ambon. Kataloka people used to prosper nutmeg in the old days, but now they depend more on fisheries.  The monarch established a traditional law to protect their coral reefs in order to warrant the fisheries sustainability and started to promote their culture-based tourism as an alternative income.
